A circle with eight arrows projecting from it, used as a symbol of Chaos magick and as an identifier by Chaotes. The symbol apparently derives from Michael Moorcock’s Elric series, in which the Gods of Chaos used this symbol, and those of Law used an upward-pointing single arrow (a much lesser-known symbol).
This glyph’s symbolism has been much expanded by Chaos Magicians, who have added an eight-fold color correspondence with the eight arrows. The symbol may also be regarded as being three-dimensional, and called a chaosphere.
