Colloquially used by mainstream society for “any gathering of witches”, but more properly specifies one of the eight Solar-based feast rituals comprising the Wheel of the Year. The complementary Lunar rituals are esbats.
Sabbats are not generally times for any thaumaturgical magick; instead, they are reserved for adoration of the Gods, celebration of the passage of the seasons, and strengthening the bonds of community through shared ritual.
